Blackberrys in Doha??

I am moving from Ireland to Doha and have just taken out a contract on blackberry bold. My network are going to remove the blackberry package so I will not have the phone for internet, only texting and ringing. Are they illegal in Doha? Wil I get arrested for bringing it into the country? I would really appreciate some light shed on this as it is really bothering me that I will be paying out money every month for a handset I have to leave in Ireland.

  nothing official yet but Qatar not involved. Even Dubai and SA they will return the service soon

  YES BECAUSE THE SERVER IS NOT UNDER THEIR CONTROL BUT I BELIEVE IN FUTURE WILL HAVE THEIR OWN SERVER AND RETURN IT TO SERVICE.

  I just purchased my Blackberry Bold in London and it was officially announced that UAE has banned bb messenger with Saudi lifting the ban. Qatar has never been mentioned so can you confirm this August 15th thing as I was told previously that Qatar was not involved.

  Hey, Just to let you know that they will stop the B.B. Mesenger on Aug, 15 so you can only use it on mail no more B.B. mesenger.

  no this sitiuation only in saudi arabia and united arab emiratesbut its ok in doha ,just come and you are welcome to doha.
